Feb. 17, 2000: Chromaline Signs Deal to Market DuPont Developed Film

The Chromaline Corporation, a Duluth based developer, manufacturer and worldwide marketer of photochemical imaging systems announced that is has signed an exclusive world-wide agreement to market a new film designed by The DuPont Company and managed by ARTech Imaging, Inc.

The film, RapidMask™ Sandblast/Etching Resist, is a photopolymer dry film for use in decorative sandblasting and etching applications. The product will be marketed worldwide by Chromaline’s decorative accessory and embellished products group; PhotoBrasive Systems.

Chromaline entered into the agreement with ARTech Imaging Inc., a Raleigh, North Carolina based managing group for DuPont’s RapidMask™ and ImageOn™ products. The agreement gives Chromaline/PhotoBrasive Systems exclusive rights to market the RapidMask™ products worldwide in all channels except the electronics industry for five years.

“Acquiring new technologies is an integral part of our growth strategy,” said Bill Ulland, Chromaline Chairman and CEO. “The addition of the RapidMask™ products will allow us to bring greater diversity to our product offerings.”

PhotoBrasive Systems will introduce the RapidMask™ products at the ARA (Awards & Recognition Association) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show runs from February 23-25 and is attended by thousands of people in the decorative sandblast/etching industry.
